Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) is a global business unit within Centrica, set with the mission to help customers discover and unlock value via the energy-consuming and existing or new energy-producing assets on their sites. In North America, we design build and manage projects from small to large scale in the distributed energy spectrum. We have existing and forthcoming solutions for which we provide development, engineering, and construction services to deliver products and projects across North America for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers wishing to reduce energy consumption and/or generate energy. The Site Superintendent that will support our Commercial Solar effort and is responsible for the supervision of work being performed by subcontractors on various solar installations across California. This person will be responsible for safety, coordination of work processes, scheduling and daily reporting functions as it pertains to solar installations. The superintendent works diligently to build a safe, high quality, profitable solar project


  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code including but not limited to article 690
  • Working knowledge of Universal Building Codes
  • General understanding of common building and electrical materials and techniques (i.e. lumber, roofing materials, etc.)
  • Confident leader with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously while maintaining clear and streamlined communication with client, contractors and your team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
  • Ability to inspire and discipline in a team environment
  • Efficient time management to handle multiple projects simultaneously including prioritizing, organizing and planning effectively to meet all deadlines
  • Excellent collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively and efficiently with a variety of internal team members in a construction type environment A
  • Avability to build rapport and interact effectively with personnel at all levels within the Company and with vendors and business partners outside the Company

Competencies and Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in commercial and industrial solar construction
  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Knowledge of commercial solar construction practices and sequence of work
  • Proficiency with typical computer software such as Microsoft office suite of products including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel, Microsoft teams, and smartsheet
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV
  • NABCEP Certification preferred
  • Master Electrical (C-10) / CA Journeyman preferred
  • OSHA 30
  • NFPA 70E Certified
  • Competent person/fall protection

Travel Requirements

  • Travel will be mainly vehicle trips to jobsites from home on an almost daily basis.
  • On occasion overnight travel will be necessary
  • Travel to Santa Clara Office at times for training and meeting
  • Travel to pull AHJ permits, submitting and meeting with local Utility power provider
